Fashion Meets Finance

I can’t tell you how many eco-designers come to me looking for advice about current financial woes – unfortunately, I don’t wield a magic wand. But after coming across this gem, I just might have a solution for them that also yields relationship results. Fashion meets Finance: the recession is over!

It’s just like when I was accepted to Marymount University years ago and we were supposed to date the Westpoint Academy guys (or so the hosting junior informed me that weekend). “Perfect!” I thought – though I never did go there and instead married a completely non-military rock babe from L.A. So much for pre-arranged marriages.

But I digress. Back to the perfect marriage of fashion and finance that I do believe caters to a few key issues:

1. Men from New York City’s financial district who mostly hit bars after work with all men and the lovely ladies of the fashion district who hit bars mostly occupied with women are able to mingle.
2. Poor designers with superior stage skills can woo the financially able men with their executive summaries and business plans in hopes of getting some much-needed funding.
3. It’s hard to find good, solid romance working both professions what with all the stress of long work hours and well, stress. Potential matches made in heaven?

Some naysayers are opposed, citing a history of men lying about their salaries and professions (they’re actually plumbers, ladies, not brokers), using the venue for trolling but in this economy, no networking can be overlooked. Even if the men are mendacious money mongers.
